Feeding too much? (Newbe)

I have recently adopted three chickens. I have 5 year old twins who are relentless at feeding them everything that they find. They give them worms, clover, bugs, grass, fruit scraps etc, (all safe foods of course).

My worry is that they are being over fed.

Do chickens know when to stop?
Am I over feeding my birds?

Thanks

My neighbor kids do the same thing to/for my hens. Worst thing that's come of it is a little diarhea (sp) from time to time. As long as they are not eating so many treats that they neglect eating their food, they should be fine.

So long as they have plenty of the appropriate food available, there should be no problems for the chickens. When the grandkids feed mine a whole lot of green weeds and such, I sometimes see a small drop in egg production a couple of days later. It usually lasts only one day, so I am not concerned.
