In the Brooder
Hi I've aquired roughly 250lbs of wheat for free! Now I'm wondering how I could feed it to my backyard flock. Anybody have any suggestions? Is it ok to use as a scratch??

Yes. I would feed them layer pellets and the wheat also. Congrats on scoring on the free wheat! That's awesome!

They LOVE wheat, that's for sure! Great scratch, you can ferment it, or even grow it as fodder or wheatgrass for them. Wheat is probably 25% of my feed mix, and they enjoy picking it out first, so any which way you choose to serve it up should make them pretty happy
