Feeding while molting

This year I have been mixing Flock Raiser (20% Protein) with Game bird starter (30% protein) and they are growing their feathers in much faster.  In the past I've just supplemented with high protein treats, but this seems to be working better.  My flock usually gets Flockraiser anyway, because I almost always have babies in the flock.
I wish they had this choice, but sadly I don't. No flock raiser anywhere in my area. :/

I feed everyone the same thing, so high protein with no extra calcium is what I use. Glad to know that 24% isn't any higher than you use!

My girls are all molting really quickly. They dropped their feathers at once and are already almost fully feathered. It's only been 3 weeks! :D Gotta love that!

I have quite a few that dropped almost all their feathers at once, and they are all pretty well grown back in. (shorter tail feathers still, but not naked) I notice they still have some pins coming in, especially along their bellies. A couple are molting more slowly, replacing as they lose. But still progressing pretty quickly.

I have an olive egger that I anticipate will start back up laying very soon. She's all feathered in, her weight is back up and her comb is turning red again.

Actually only my Cochins are doing it that fast. The rest aren't even molting, or aren't showing any visual signs of molting. They all looked terrible! Though not terrible enough to join that molting contest!

And George disappointed (my frizzle) I was so hoping he would start to go naked so I could laugh and post him in the thread. Bad boy.. :rant

I love it when mine molt, the entertainment makes up for the lack of eggs.

What food would be 18% or 22% protein. I am a novice and not familiar with different feed.

BOSS seems to work for me. I dont feed alot of scratch, I was told hens dont lay as well on it, they just get fat. I toss out their feed pellets like its treat every morning with some boss, as well as free feeding their pellets. about once a week I toss out scratch
