Feeding Wild Birds

Hang it and They will come. Put out 1rst Humming Bird feeder around 3 PM yesterday. At 7:32 AM this morning, BINGO! one female Ruby Throated. Guess I'll hang the rest today. Haven't seen nor heard any of the Grackles so may chance filling the community feeder.

I saw a hummingbird yesterday. I don't have my feeder out yet but he flew right up to where I usually hang one and was looking for it. I guess I better get it hung back out there!

They do remember from year to year where they found the goods.

Mama Killdeer and her babies :) She was very dramatic when I got near her nest, flopping on the ground a few feet away and carrying on. No harm was done, I snapped my picture and left and she went right back to her nest and babies :) This is in a patch of landscaping rocks in the middle of the parking lot at the state park I work at. Very exposed.

Still waiting on the Rose Breasted Grosbeaks.
They will come.

Although, I used to get a wide variety of birds at my feeders before the squirrels and pigeons took over. Now I get Stellar Jays, doves and crows and the occasional wren or chickadee.
