Feeding Wild Birds

At a beagle club in Connecticut there was a 'blue' hen in the flock patterned like a bourbon red only blue. She was there for several years.

Just saw a hummlingburd! Feeders go up tomorrow.

Mowing lawn - chopped up a Wood frog yesterday and a garter snake today. I hate when that happens. It is relatively cool, and guess they are just too torpid to move and catch my attention so that I can move them.

Started seeing a few warblers the last few days. No IDs. They are too quick for me to get a good look.

Western Bluebirds are already nesting in one of the boxes, same box as last year. I need to go peek one of these days and see how many eggs the female laid. She usually lays 5.

First Humming Bird April 20, a little late this yr, they woke up to frost this morning.

I put up two humm'bird feeders yesterday. And I heard a whippoorwill a few nights ago.

The Yellow rumped Warblers are here. And the dang cowbirds. A lot of finches...
