Feeding Wild Birds

The Grey Jays don't even come this far south! (central minnesota) Maybe someday they will.
Several years ago, actually it was probably close to 20 years ago, we had an influx of Great Grey owls from Canada because they had deep snow and the owls couldn't find enough to eat, it was cool to see them everywhere.
Up in your territory I'm sure you get to see some interesting Canadian Bird irruptions! 🦉🐦🐦‍⬛❤️

I haven't seen a Pileated woodpecker here in years, but I do hear them. That "jungle cry" is unmistakable.

I absolutely LOVE pileated woodpeckers. I've always wanted to see one at my feeders but never have. I've seen them around randomly at work (I work at the local state park) and I hear them drumming on the trees while I'm home but they just haven't found their way to my yard. I do have lots of downy and red bellied woodpeckers that know my feeders. Yesterday I saw my first hairy woodpecker out there so maybe this will be the year!

Once in a while a pileated flys in. Scares the poultry. Even the turkeys run like it's a hawk or pterodactyl.
