Great mama hen!!!'First' flock just came in to feed. Oldest poults are nearly as large as the hens. Second clutch is now down to three remaining. They are very reactive to any bird movement and spend most of their time either in the brush or in close contact with their mother. I saw a Cooper's hawk make a half hearted attempt at them yesterday, and the hen actually flew at the hawk and drove it away.

In the second flock, the hen with the 8 poults is very large/dominant/aggressive. All poults and the poult from the second hen stay close to her. She is a super mother.Great mama hen!!!
When she showed up, there were 4 quail sized poults. They are now closer to Coturnix size. How many originally in the second clutch?
