How do you feed your LGD (mine is a Great Pyrenees) when the turkeys will push her out of the way and steal all of her food? Have you found an outdoor RFID feeder that will work. It's just crazy.

I would not put the dog's food where the turkeys have access.

If the turkeys don't have access, then the dog doesn't have access.
Im guessing he's a farm dog who lives with his livestock? I know people have that kind of situation but Im not sure how to help in that aspect. My dad doesnt have turkeys, just goats/sheep/pig with dog.

Woukd the large animal sister forum to BYC be any help?

I don't know what that is.

You can do like other LGD owners that feed their dogs separately from their livestock.

@Baymule feeds her dogs and has them trained to not take the food until she gives them permission. There is no reason that you cannot bring the dog to a place where it is separate from the turkeys when you feed it and then return it to be with your other animals after feeding.

Wonder how long it would take (days, weeks) her to settle down enough to eat. She does NOT like to be separated. We've tried a stall, a room in the house, a kennel. She won't settle. She's anxious about her flock.
