Yes i had to run in to get the gun and yes he sprayed the whole coop all my eggs broke and one chicken passed and it sucks this is first time I had to protect my coop from a predator in 5 years I've owned chickens but it had to be done i have a 20x20 run with a 15x15 enclosed part and its chicken wire and half wood all the entry point are double wired im still trying to figure out how he got in nothing has ever broke in the coop before in 5 years dont understand how he got in or were he did but im going to hardware store in morning to get some mesh to secure the coop even more at places he might have got in at and moreSorry for your loss. Is your coop completely enclosed and was the door shut and latched? Did you have to go back to the house for your gun? If it's the first time you've ever killed anything it's understandable you'd feel bad for taking a life, but you did what you had to do to protect your flock. Did it set off its scent bomb?
