fell out of the nest and cracked and is still alive

ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE BORN , ITS UNDERDEVELOPED, ITS VERY FRAGILE AND ITS BEAK IS VERY SMALL , I CANT FORCE IT TO OPEN ITS MOUTH

I found her egg half broken , meaning only her body and legs were sticking out eventually the other half came off so , it came out early , it was not supposed to so you can say it was underdeveloped and came out by accident
alright. put her in a cup maybe? If shes pretty underdeveloped
No I don't, I want it to survive can you suggest or think of anything else
PUT HER IN THE OVEN, KEEP LIGHT ON. I do that. it works. that's the best.

A week for an egg that takes 18 day to develop is huge. That's like a baby being born at week 26 instead of 40. So many things have yet to develop fully

@backyard pigeons have any possible ideas?

i re read what i wrote and holy cow i made no sense. What i meant to say was to not literally force the mouth- see if it opens. play pigeon noises, see if that got her to open up. I rescued a baby blu jay. I had to put him on the table and then bang the table (like punch on it so it shakes) and for some reason that made him open his mouth. see if it even has the ability to open.

Pigeon squabs do not open their mouths. The parents produce milk in their crops. The baby sticks it's entire beak into the parents throat and sips/drinks up the milk.

To start off, do not feed worms. You will kill it. The squab needs heat first and foremost. Once it's warm, you can make a feeding syringe out of a 3 ml with the end cut off and a glove. You can feed Kaytee bird formula. Do not force the beak open. Squabs stick their beaks into their parents throats to eat.

This is the most sound advice yet.

oh boy. I'm trying. Thanks for the tag @JacinLarkwell

@Kawa44 ,,, it is very nice of you to try to save this bird.

But, are you positive it is a pigeon? Pigeons do not nest in trees, but doves do.

Which of these does the bird look like?

PIGEONS:

MOURNING DOVE:

If it is the latter species, the Mourning dove, it is illegal to tamper with the bird, as it is a protected species according to the migratory bird treaty act. https://www.audubon.org/news/the-migratory-bird-treaty-act-explained

If it is neither if these birds, it could be a Eurasian collared dove.

This bird, along with pigeons, are legal to domesticate as they are from Europe and deemed invasive.

very sound advice.

Opening their beak and forcing food in them at such a young age will cause them to choke and die.

Edit: here's an additional resource regarding the migratory bird treaty act.

No matter your intentions and abilities, the treaty act is law and is a very succuseful act, saving numerous species of bird. I recommend all to follow it as it is the best for the birds, whether its a dove or a duck, or a blue jay or cardinal.
