Okay. Large red comb and wattles, way before any pullet would have them. Pointy hackle feathers. Sweeping saddle feathers. Some/ many males will have red coloring on their shoulders, unlike females of the same genetics.
It's much easier to decide when you have a mixed group of the same breed and colors; then they stand out as different.

I can sex my little Belgian d'Uccles at three weeks, but the EEs take longer. Different comb types make it harder when they are small.
Males also tend to have thicker legs than females of the same breed, and sometimes a 'cocky' attitude.

Does the fact she/he has only crowed when scared, doesn't have spurs....mean anything?
