female duck got killed

My female duck got killed early this morning, and now my male is waddling around the yard looking for her. Should I get another female for him? I feel so bad for him, he seems so lost without her!

Aww, so sorry, that is very sad. I would get either one or two (personally, I'd get two), more girls for him. My drake lost his girls last summer and was so lost, it broke my heart. We got him a Pekin, then another Runner and he was very happy. Added the third one, but that is a whole other story, so now he has 3 girls and is hot stuff in his opinion.
I would think that yours would be much happier with a mate or two. And as soon as possible. I was worried mine would get sick or hurt frantically looking for the other ones.
