Hi all, I have a 2 year old Muscovy duck. She has been losing her appetite for 4 days now. Just took her to the vet and had her x ray taken. Result came out that she has diarrhea. But there are irregular ball shaped things scattered around her body in her x ray. Vet said it’s follicle. But I would like some opinions from you all. Thank you in advance.

here’s an x-ray on one of my runner ducks from when she broke her hip. do you see what you call “ irregular ball ball shaped things” in her xray? Because if you do then it’s probably something normal. I’m just not sure what you meant. Like maybe you could repost your picture with a red circle around things that you think are irregular and I’ll look again.

Hi, I hope this is clearer. Thank you for taking interest in the post. I’m really worried about my girl.another thing is she has not been laying eggs for a year and a half now. Occasionally I feed her eggshell. But it does not seem to work. Will not laying eggs affect her overall health?

Hello

I am just seeing this post after knowing your girl died. Please accept my condolences: I know how distressing it is to lose a ducky friend. The Xrays are amazingly good. The skeleton is clear and so much soft tissue is visible too

I can see the cystic structure near the pelvis but have no idea if it is normal or pathological.

It is odd that your girl has not laid eggs for so long. That is unusual for a young duck. Whether that is related to what is seen in the Xray, I don't know. Whether her not laying eggs and the findings on the Xray are related to her loss of appetite early death, I don't know. You have to ask your vet about that.

Sending you cyberhugs at this sad time
