I am not alarmed by them preening each other just amused and curious to why they do it. It is so adorable.

That is sweet. I haven't owned ducks in years, but I have chickens. They don't normally preen each other, but I have one paint silkie hen that preens her boyfriend silkie rooster. It's really cute.

I've got 3, 3 week old ducklings and 1 of them preens the others. don't know the gender though.

The twins preen speedy and sometimes each other and soda... but mostly speedy.
Speedy would preen fancy when they were little but when they got bigger he started preening her.

I've noticed mine (2 ducks, 1 drake) have started doing this too. They recently hit 22 weeks, so I wonder if its a new way of bonding...

I have seen my Muscovy's show affection to each other [when the girls aren't taking turns chasing each other] It's mainly to their hero drake.

I say affection because it sure looks like it.

Ha! So, I'm a hero drake?!? Or I was - I think I'm just mama - cause speedy, sugar, and soda are the only ones that try to preen me all the time. Fancy used to even after we'd have a show down on who was bigger and badder.
