Ive got help here before, my female pigeon laid large eggs and went off her legs, I was told she needed calcium, I gave her vitamin supplement and she was back to herself in no time and back with her mate. This morning she was very distressed and very ill she seemed to have a large bulge, I guessed she was egg bound, I took her to vet he xrayed her to discover a huge egg, she got a calcium jab and he said to keep her indoors and warm, tonight she laid a massive egg and seems ok, but I dont know if its ok for her to go back to her mate, she laid eggs before she was with him and they were normal since shes been with him shes had problems and her eggs are huge they are the same breed and size

Sorry to hear about your female pigeon.

She will be fine with her mate... it will not be him making her eggs big.

The only thing you can do is keep her on a high calcium diet... chicken layer pellets are good.. as well as cuttlefish bone chopped up into small bits she can swallow. Also crushed oyster shell grit should be available at all times.

You want to reduce the number of eggs she is laying too.

You can do this be letting her brood fake eggs. Don't take the eggs away and leave her with none... that makes them quickly lay more.
