female quail so panic and cannot lay!!

My female quail are skittish too...well, all of my quail are, actually. It's in their nature, as prey birds. Do you have other quail in the coop with her? What is your set-up like?
I would recommend giving crushed up oyster shell on the side for calcium, rather than dissolved in the water. That way your quail can choose to eat it only when she needs it.

anyway i have this texas a&m quail and looking at her size she could already lay some eggs but till now she's only fatten up..what could be wrong? 16hrs of light with good food and nesting area too??

of course i have them indoors and i have two dogs..well she laid a 2 hours ago and it was a tiny egg

You definitely want to keep the dogs separate from the area with the quail. New layers might lay oddly small eggs sometimes, but soon they will become normal-sized as their bodies adjust.

You can crush up eggshells and feed that to them instead. It is a great substitute for oyster shell. The pieces shouldn't be like dust, but not too big either.

How old is she?

i do not know exactly since she's a swap quail.. but i think she's big enough to lay some eggs more bigger than the one who lays everyday
