I feel like I've read somewhere that there's a female specific feather pattern that isn't sex-linked. My attempts to Google only bring up sex-linked birds. My brain says it's some kind of wild-type or quail pattern?
I was wondering what counts as Wild Type and if this chick has that color pattern. I don't think my Google-Fu is very good when googling genetics. It almost looks like it has lacing but I don't know if that's just the look of baby feathers or what.
