Female turkey heartbreak?

So I have two 8 week old broad breasted white turkeys(we’re pretty sure). Where we live we aren’t allowed to have roosters because of the noise they can make. So if a male turkey can make as much noise gobbling, we can’t keep him. They have been together with our starter flock (which is 5 hens and 2 Peking ducks all the same age).

My question is, if we have to get rid of our Tom (name Tom Riddle), will our female ( McGonagall) suffer separation issues? Turkey heartbreak or something else?

Turkeys need turkeys for companionship.

It is not a good idea to keep a Broad Breasted tom with a Broad Breasted hen. It won't work out well for the hen in the long run when he becomes heavy enough to seriously hurt her while trying to breed her.

Later this summer check around locally and try to find a pair of heritage hens. Doing so will allow you to still have more than one hen when your Broad Breasted hen passes.

The one thing different about the noise a tom makes vs the noise a rooster makes is that most people like to hear toms gobbling while many people hate the sound of roosters.
