He looks very handsome! That's like me losing my big duck named Quakers. He's a mess!I hope so too. It broke my heart to pieces he was my big baby
Yes I was considering a necropsy for a second but I decided I really didn’t want to mess with him, he was my favorite bird and that’s saying a lot considering I have so many, and I wanted him to just rest. I miss him dearly. Thank you so much, yeah it’s hard to know what’s going on but as I said some times are worse than others. I just wanna try to figure it out and get them back to health without an annoying coughI don’t raise turkeys, but usually if they have something like mycoplasma (MG,) it usually has worse symptoms than you are describing. They could have a more mild virus, or an irritation from something environmental or dust, mold, or other coop problem. A lack of ventilation, cold or rainy conditions, or too much heat in a coop can cause breathing problems. I don’t have any idea what might have happened to your male, but if you should lose a bird, it helps to get a necropsy by the state vet. A nasal swab or culture as @casportpony sugfested would be an easier thing to do. I would give them a call. Your local vet or the state lab might mail you the swab to collect the specimen.

Please do let me know as soon as you’re ableIf you are in California you can send a nasal swab to UC Davis for very inexpensive respiratory disease testing. Just let me know and I will look up the details for you.
Call the lab in Tulare and ask about having a respiratory test done. Will you be able to drive to pick up the swabs?Yes I was considering a necropsy for a second but I decided I really didn’t want to mess with him, he was my favorite bird and that’s saying a lot considering I have so many, and I wanted him to just rest.
