She just runs and runs. I don't know why she won't let him. They are both golden pheasants. That's what they have been doing all day this week is following each other but when he tries to jump on her back she takes off. Does anyone know why? Also when will she start laying?

She may be letting him and you don't see it and maybe she isn't ready yet. All goldens start to lay at different times lay in spring. If your weather has been cold still it may take some time. As long as she is a yr old she will lay just be patient they will do their thing.

Don't worry he doing his job.I have never seen my breed but the eggs are fertile.Maybe he is trying to show off for you and she will have no part in his macho ways.
