Fence heigth??

I always had several chickens that could fly over a six foot fence and a few that could also find their way back in. This was years ago before I covered the run. These were BRs and BOs mostly, not light chickens.

It won't be a problem if they fly over once in a while. (I'll tell them to just throw them back

). They just don't want the whole flock there tearing up the yard.

I have about 4ft wooden fence and 9 sexlinkedReds who have been enjoying daytime in the backyard but into a 4X10X4 coop nights. Today I discovered all 9 were outside where foxes and possums may lurke. My thouight went to a higher fence of either chickenwire or even electric netting. Then I thought of a strand of elec wire at the top of this fence. Still moments later I began to wonder about this idea: I attach to existing posts about 45degree 1X1s and string chicken wire on that slant inward and even could place a single elec wire at the end of the additional added 45 post extention. Has anyone ever tried this?
