Hi everyone,
I have 5 hens currently living in a 4x10 chicken tractor in the back yard. we have some legistical difficulty taking care of the chicks properly over the winter so we are taking them down to my parents in md where they can live in the back of my dad's greenhouse when it's very cold out. I am planning to put up a fence so they can free range in the garden over winter but I am having trouble figuring out what kind of fence to use. dogs are the main predator i want to keep out. but i don't want the fence to be permanent. i imagine there is a post about this somewhere on the forum but i have had trouble finding it so i wanted to ask here. what would you suggest? thanks for any help! kate

I read on here somewhere about electric mesh fencing for chickens. Hold on, let me look ...

Ok, I found what I was thinking of. It is called Kencoves portable electric mesh fence. Unfortunately, it isn't a cheap item. Plus you would need to purchase an eletric fencer to charge it up. But I think it would work for keeping out dogs and would be fairly easy to setup and take down. Some T-posts and wire ties and your good to go.

this is a web-site that has what I was thinking about.
