Feral Chickens, St. Croix Virgin Islands (pics)

Really beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing. Yet another reason to vacation in the tropics...besides looking at plants/flowers, that is

I had read the same thing online. To be honest I was surprisedI sorta had to hunt to find these few to photograph. Maybe they had just had a big roundup. I hardly heard a single crow while I was there, honestly. On a side note, I heard on Facebook from someone down there that there have been some recent court cases, and if they have decided St. Croix is "for agriculture" and if you want to keep poultry or livestock on your land, (if you own the land) then you can do it. Homeowner's Associations rules and regulations override that court ruling, however. I am going back down there in a week to see about buying property. WOOT!!!

I was there about two years ago and they were everywhere. I remember stepping out of a convenience store and watching a hen with a half dozen chicks walk past me, head between some parked cars in the parking lot, and eventually cross the road. I was amazed that I didn't see any flat chickens on the roads as we drove around the island.
