in 6 days I have now noticed a bit less smelly, more firm, a little LESS poop itself. I do Deep Bedding in the coop which is small and free range all day in my smallish back yard. Will let them out to the front yard soon as it is bigger but they need to be able to come to the coop when I call before I do that.
Oh and so far, may be another reason, I have less flies.
I DO pick up poop EVER DAY for my 4 girls.

I would like to know how often people are feeding FF to their animals a day?
I feed 2 to 3 times for the chickens and 3 times for my pigs.

This might make a difference in the poop and smell.
oh and how much are you feeding them at a time.

ie 6 chickens 1 cup FF 3x a day

Sorry I have not been getting Alerts on this.

I feed 2x a day for a total of about 1# of feed for my 4 hens. Although lately I have not been weighing it, just fill to a line with water and then add feed the night before and feed in the morning and afternoon.
It may even be a little over 1# of feed.

Today I fed all of it in the morning, I wil have to see how they do during the day and let them out in the front yard this afternoon.

I started 3 days ago and they are having very runny, watery poops. I don't know the smell. I gave a bit of water together with FF. I found taking away water from FF very hard as feed is very muddy and mashy. I fermented scratch and pellets together. Does having watery poops all the time affect their health, I wonder.
