So I plan on starting fermented feed when I get back from Utah on the 15th .
I have read on it a ton
I plan on using a huge mason jar.

I have a flock of 22:
I have 2 10x10x6 dog kennels split into 3 parts:
Part 1 houses older hens (9)
Part2 takes up 2/3 of 2nd kennel houses my teenagers (9) on adult feed
Part 3 takes up 1/3 of 2nd kennel and house two mamas with 2 total babies.on chick feed

I plan on fermenting both chicken and chick feed.
The question is how much to feed?
And will they need feed out all day long?
How often do I start a new Bach so I doing run out?

my chickens are have feeders all day long full of dry food.
I have bins I will feed in.
I'm doing the same thing after reading an article @lazy gardener recommended. But I'm wanting to ask about your kennels. I keep young chicks in my dog kennels till they almost get to laying age and then put them in the areas I want them. Do you have any picks of how you're dividing up your kennels? I just give the group of chicks, growing together, the whole kennel. They only sleep in the coop in the kennel at night, otherwise they all free range the entire day.

I work in litres and I only need 4 litres for my many chickens (16, but 10 of those are bantams) and quail. After consulting a conversion calculator it seems 4 litres = 1 U.S. gallon. Crumbles do expand quite a bit so I'd start with quarter filling a 1 gallon container with food, add water, keep checking to see if you need to add more water, and in your heat (whew, that's hot!) it will possibly be bubbling by the end of day two. Even if it isn't fully fermented they'll still love it soaked and you just top up what you take out, always leaving a bit of fermented feed in your container to quickly get the new food going. It's a good way to get fluids into them in the heat.

For the chick feed?
What about the chicken feed?

For the rest of your flock maybe mix up 2 gallons and see if that's enough if they are big birds. Then just make up less if they aren't getting through it. It takes awhile to work out how much they need plus have enough left over to keep it going. Just remember to leave enough space in the containers for the food to expand.

You could chill a portion in the fridge as a cool meal on a hot day.

Hoiw much chick feed should I ferment I have 2 mamas and 2 babies

To simplify things, I'd put the whole flock on unmedicated starter. But, if your flock is large enough that that would not be cost effective, or if you already have a lot of layer feed on hand, you would want to ferment 2 separate containers. Your chicks are going to be growing and eating more every day. But for 1 Mama, and her 2 babies, perhaps ferment 1/2#/day. If they don't eat that much, you can always give the left overs to the rest of your flock. I keep my whole flock on unmedicated starter when I have chicks growing out. Keeps things much simpler. Of course, I'm assuming that you have more than the Mama and babies!

8 teenagers on chicken feed
9 grown chickens on chicken feed
2 mamas and 2 babies:
Long story short...

I had a mom on the nest gave here 10 eggs 4 hatched she stepped on one.
She kept trampling them so I took her babies away and gave them to another broody that I couldn't put eggs under because I was leaving and they would hatch when I'm gone.I felt bad for the other hen so I put her back in and then another chick died from coccidose (mabey).

So 2 mama's are raising 2 babies.
And the first mom dosent trample them because the other mom is in there
