FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

You can make a smaller batch to start it for a few weeks. I make mine in a 2 gallon bucket. Will switch to 5 gallon soon though because it will last for weeks. if you continue to stir. Start it 5 days in advance.

Perfect - thank you so much!!

I have another question... I just went to lock up my chickens and they are all panting while on the roost... it's about 72 degrees out and I have all their windows open. I just put my brooder temp humidity thing in the coop to see exactly what it is when I go out in a few minutes. Should I be concerned?

Outstanding, Tikkijane. One of your best yets!!!!

I keep feeling like I'm forgetting something..... I spent nearly all day on this, and then the crazy people's horses went on a rampage through my yard and I called the sheriff's office, who sent 2 deputies who got there in time to stop the 3rd crazy hostile man from flattening me; while also explaining again that their darn bull has been out for 4 freaking weeks now, only to come back up and try to finish it and heard the dogs in a frenzy because, you guessed it, the BULL was crashing through the trees in the middle section of my driveway between the house and the well house, just steps from my porch; which meant I had to go up and find my revolver and send off a warning shot.

I don't think I can fly any time soon unless I want to spend extra time with the TSA. It's been a bit crazy. I may have missed something.

Folks have been bugging me for quite some time to do a page like this but I've just never gotten around to it. I'm bookmarking this and will be referring all newbies with the same old questions and a reluctance to read up to your blog.

******I skimmed it and the only thing I would write differently is that it doesn't have to be stirred twice a day or even once a day if you don't want to, so you might want to change that. I recommend to stir just to keep the mix gassing off easily and to keep the top moistened if you are using a dryer mix.*******

Here's a list of all the things we've found or have been reported as pros and cons to FF....feel free to use it on your FAQ page!
