Ok I want some input on this. I have not been able to find any helpful information. We are fairly new to raising chickens. We started Fermenting their food. Has any one tried to ferment soybeans and if so how were results. I know they say to bake them or boil them but we are trying a different method. The soybeans are mixed with corn wheat split peas. And sunflower seeds. Just looking for some input on fermented soybeans. Does it remove toxins or has anyone tried this. Thanks for the help

! Pleased you joined our community! I don't ferment my feed so I can't really advise...but I typed in "fermenting soybeans" into the BYC search box and a few threads came up that might give you some ideas: https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=fermenting+soybeans
I know the topic of feeding raw or untreated soybeans can be a contentious topic on BYC!

Welcome!

Sorry, I can not really help you either. I did try FF with my gals but never soy beans and they were not keen.

Hopefully redsoxs’s suggestion was helpful.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

I'm going to copy the others in saying that I don't really know much about this either. I hope you figure it out though! :)

Whether you're looking for help, info, insight, poultry breeders, ideas, or just friends, you've come to the right place!

Anyway, great to have ya here!

Make it a great day!

Hello and welcome ,
I sprout beans for my chickens , mung beans, white beans and lots of lentils . It's easy and a good protein for my girls .

Look into sprouting , I've added lentils to fermented feed with disastrous results , the ff overflowed with a gas like liquid.not sure why??
