Oooh, now that's a great idea! I think that would be better than sport tape. I don't have a snap installer, and every time I've tried using my mom's I just end up shredding whatever I work with. What would it cost to have you make a couple dozen blank ones? Maybe a price per dozen + shipping?

the ones I have made I wouldn't want to sell because I keep finding them off mine. My roo that is #1 has lost his some where. The snaps just doesn't want to say snapped for some reason. Thank goodness 2-3 of them haven't lost theirs at one time so I know who is who. ;-)

That word would be coccidiosis..and remember this day so you can look back on it and tell it to others. Make sure you let them know you live in the south, that your birds are exposed to wild birds, that they are living on a build up of their own poop....lots of it...that you never deworm, you free range, etc. For everyone who claims that coccidia~and parasitic worms~ is just more prevalent in the south and cannot be avoided, so they must medicate their chicks and their flocks for every runny butt they see, this is important.

lol yep I was so excited I couldn't wait to come tell everyone because I was like the garlic, acv and the ff has got to be right for them not to have any. I told hubby I would just feel better KNOWING for sure she wasn't infested in them with us eating those eggs. Yep it is very important isn't it?
Figured that would make your day since you CAN'T argue with the actually testing of the poop.

I took him a big blob to. hee hee He dug down into it with his little do dad to get the middle of it to check.

I'll have to incorporate the idea of an FF feed bomb over on the Dave Leghorn story thread...President O'Llama has been apprised of the situation in Hick County and has sent CHANGE, as promised. It would be only natural that some naked neck chick over there produce a FF bomb in response to Barawk O'Llama's speech.

Ya think it would change the thread rating from PG-13 to an R rating if someone started dropping FF bombs in the thread?

It's funny you guys should say that...my sis called on her way home from work just now, she said she just saw a very large group of military helicopters on the move~said the military must be up to something. Said she didn't know what was going down but she had never seen that many flying together like that except on war movies.

Go out immediately and hide your FF paraphernalia.

Thanks. The ghost was an attempt to keep the hawks from perching on the overhang over the pop door. I dont know if its working or not tho lol

For reasons other than a large splat, the FF feed container will need to breathe and be fed to keep the batch healthy and reap all the benefits. If you're going to do it that way be sure to burp it at the least and add feed on occassion.

No worries! I haven't quite figured out how much FF the girls will eat in a day, so I've been feeding them twice a day. So that's at least two times I'm opening it daily. Plopping the FF down into a pyrex baking dish next to the cooler set up. I'm thinking maybe I'll fix up a bit of window screen material to put over the cooler opening so it can stay open without gathering bugs.

AletaG mentioned that she uses a cooler also, but keeps the FF bucket inside it. She keeps the cooler on it's side with the drain tap on the top I think? But I set mine up on blocks, with the cooler regular side up and no bucket, just the FF inside the cooler. That way I don't have to stoop over or lift anything to feed the girls. I probably could lift the bucket, but I use a cane most of the time so I'm left with only one hand to lift, and if the bucket is heavy it will throw my balance off.

We set it up in an area that's always in the sun, but if we get a long cold streak this winter there is a danger of the cooler cracking if the FF freezes. This set up is definitely an experiment!
