Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Ever try one of those citronella bark collars on her?  I found out, quite by accident, that dogs HATE citronella and will do anything to get away from it.  Then I read about how some smart person designed citronella bark collars and I figured they must have found out by accident too and then capitalized on a good thing.  Even my milk cow would shy away from a rag with citronella on it!  She'd take one whiff of that rag from a distance and take off.

Let me tell you this, you never saw a dog try to get away from something more unless it would be a skunk spraying directly into their face!  I got the bright idea to make up some "natural" flea collars for my dogs once consisting of bandanas soaked in citronella and lavender essential oil.  My GP mix went crazy trying to rub that thing off or rub it in something that would take that smell away...poor thing.  I took it off and never tried that again but it stuck in my mind for future reference.  :p

I have heard of those. I'll have to check them out. I've got some citronella essential oil! hehe

Anybody know what this is? I almost just drank it! It's not a black soldier fly is it?

It is so crazy around here. It has been in the 70's all day and I have been hot! Now it is 67! An ice storm is on the way tomorrow or Friday and in just a few days it is supposed to be down to 12'F at night. The bugs don't know to die or make babies!

That's exactly what I always said. It was a dream come true when they offered hubby a job out here in 2011. Couldn't get packed fast enough. It's as beautiful as you dream it is. Seriously. Here's the view off my back porch this time of year.

Big sky!!! The last place I lived had huge valleys rimmed by some of the tallest mountains in these parts and it always reminded me of pics of Montana...all that big sky and blue bottomed clouds, bright waters and big mountains.

Part of the Bluegrass Valley...a 42 mile long valley that is beautiful from one end to the other. I couldn't stop driving down that valley every chance I got....I figured it must look as close to Canaan Land as anywhere I'd ever seen.

Germany Valley, right over the mountain from where I lived. In this pic it was full of fog in the morning...I've taken pics off of this overlook about a hundred times and never saw that valley look the same twice.

And my valley...just a notch between the mountains. This is right after an ice storm that was melting off.

Now I live where I don't have those fantastic views but still have some pretty moments in the meadow still yet.....

67? Lemme go check what it is here ...
-2. Ouch. Far cry from the unending 90+ degree dry days we had over the summer.

Those pictures are gorgeous, Bee. That little spot you call home is the sort of place that brings peace to the soul. Any time you decide you want to come see MT, give me a holler. I've got a spare bedroom and love company.

Ohhh we had upper upper 90's to over 100'F with sooo much humidity you could cut it with a knife! And rain rain rain which was a little unusual. I LOVE summer but I hope the next one isn't so extreme.

Great pics & handsome son there hellbender. ;) Awesome buck too. Here's some of my 18 acre property from a few weeks ago. Snow has all but melted now with warmer temps.

Had the pleasure of visiting Kalispell, Montana. If we ever win the lottery, Montana is a place we'd consider moving to. :) To me, their huckleberries beat our saskatoon berries. ;) Yummy!

Thank you. He's the apple of my eye...an only child and still a man's man.

You have a beautiful place. Don't know I'd leave it for some berries...lol
