Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Hi, I've been reading this thread for hours, I am on post 260 of 1215, I'm ready to start fermenting!! Can anyone please tell me if there is info in this thread about using fermented feed for older birds and birds that are layers, not meat birds? Half my girls are just about a year old and the rest are about 8 months old. Is it okay to just start them on this? I just bought all the ingredients to make my own feed and I want to ferment it for my layers. Thanks!

I have older birds, 7 years old and younger. They all dove beak first into it the first day. I don't understand the results in the study but my results were WAY better than that.

Sprouting a grain is like a mini fermentation followed by growth of the seed embryo into another form of available nutrition. It's basically the same, but the sprouted grains are more prone to the less beneficial mold production if you are not careful about it.

I really like that set up! Now, maybe I can get something going for my birds too!

Thanks... makes sense... I wonder what the comparison in "nutritive value" is from one to the other?
