Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Do you just put the bread in with your fermented grains? If so I asusme you cut it up into cubes?
At first I did not just in case it didn't work so I wouldn't ruin a whole batch of grains (I have large batches in 30 gall trash cans) no I didn't cut it up just put it in w/ the water and put a scoop of ferment water from the grains. Today we combined them, they seem to like it, still not sure how "healthy" it is for them though, or if it is just empty calories.

feed the layers the fermented feed today. they loved it. i had no trouble with them eating it. they dove right in. i have to make a 5 gallon bucket system before i do it full time. about 2 days.

you can put the lid on but not all the way. you must leave somewhat open for air . 3/4 on
Thanks

Started our fermenting feed last night for our meat birds who are supposed to arrive tomorrow and it's fermenting right along. Smells like bread dough after the first rise. I'm excited about trying this method out right from the first day. We couldn't find any raw ACV though to use in their water so we got the only kind they had that hadn't been filtered and still had floaties and stuff in the bottom of the jug. It doesn't say it's been pasteurized but it probably has been.

We're using a grain and pellet mix to start off with. We'll see how they do on it.
