Ya know, I was thinking this morning about putting my juvenile delinquent Aussie roo in a headlock and bringing him in for popcorn and a movie. Maybe he is acting out because he doesn't feel loved...? hahahaha "You eat this dang popcorn dang you!!! Stop biting me!!!!! (smack! smack!)"

...I wonder if they have chicken straight jackets...?

Wrap him up in DUCK tape!

Poor little roo. Ya know, he might could use a movie and popcorn night...? LOL My birds are probably 200' from the house so I don't even hear them unless it is real quiet in the house. Usually if I wake up in the middle of the night I can hear them. There is a security light that is too close to them I guess so they carry on off and on all night. Now when I am in the coop and the rooster crows it is a bit loud. lol The roosters in the roo pen crow at me when I go outside. lol I like roos.
I guess I could read him a bedtime story......from my chicken recipe book

Some of my roosters spend the night in the barn, and some in their houses. Some are close to the house, and some are further away. This tinnitus that I have all the time might be partly responsible for the fact that they don't bother me too. I have had to go into the barn at night and briefly turn on a single light that is in there.....and a couple of mine will crow......I am sure the neighbors love it.......that's what they get for moving close to my barn.....the chickens were there first!!

Ohhh leave off that recipe part - you will scar him mentally! lol I've got that dang tinnitus too- "my automatic noise maker". When it first started I didn't think I could stand it! Now it's no biggie, sounds like crickets when it kicks in.

Tinnitus! Oh how I hate it! Sometimes it is SO LOUD. I can't stand it. It takes a great deal of concentration to NOT LISTEN to it! Ugh.

When it kicks in? Mine is CONSTANT! I hate it.

The reason I got on here was to share something that I think only this group will appreciate.

Mine is constant too. I am seriously losing my hearing because of it. One day it seemed as though I just woke up with it, and it has never stopped. People say background noise at night helps with sleeping.....but if has to be really low or I CAN'T get to sleep because of it......crazy stuff.

Have you had your blood Calcium checked......been doing some research.....

Love the diploma......I need to hang one right next to my other ones.....

I bet that is where "Duck Tape" got its name - somebody had an unruley duck! LOL

Ahem....TDubya? That's duct tape....for heating ducts.

That's cute! I'd love to send one of those to a few folks I've met..... a year or two raising a few birds in the backyard can sure earn a doctorate in chickens.

I use a fan at night for MORE noise (like I need that right?) because I'm a light sleeper and most any noise at all will jar me awake. Plus, I use ear plugs because my husband's snoring can raise the roof! So, now, I have to have the earplugs in or I can't sleep. I still use the fan to keep from overheating sometimes. I haven't had any blood tests done at all (no insurance) but I've done a lot of research myself and I've taken lots of calcium but it hasn't helped. I think the last thing I read was that "they" don't really know what causes it so I guess I quit looking.
