Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

:frow Got a question!  Are you folks pulling those buckets apart a lot?  If so, can I ask why?  I think I'm missing something....

I never do with the chick feeder, but I have to out in the barn. I need to carry the bucket to the feeder so I can scoop it out. Otherwise I'm scooping it out and into a bucket and then carrying the second bucket into the coop and then scooping it out again. Though if the buckets give me issues, I do this. :p

Has any one else seen an increase in egg production when switching to the FF? I sure have, with the weather getting colder and the days shorter I was only getting about one egg every other day. Now I am getting between five and eight EVERY day! This is from a dozen hens, a couple of which are a few years older, like five-ish. I am impressed, for sure.
I have noticed the same thing. I am tracking my flocks egg production and plan on reporting it every so often here. I have yet to see a decrease.

My base is a Canon Rebel T3i Digital SLR and my lens is a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens. Wow that was a mouthful!
It's quite pricy... But he owes you after all those foot creams...

Yes he does. He mumbled something about a sweater. GGGRRR. The last sweater he got me was bright yellow and had some guy riding a horse on it. I told him adults dont wear lemon in a wool cable knit! Mine is a Cannon Rebel EOS XSI. Bought the showroom floor model on sale at Sears. It has transformed my life. Got it when Nina was 3 or 4. Her documented history started then big time. I'm thinking I'll twist his arm to get me the lens and get the hive later and hide it behind his crap pile in the garage. Then after a few months I'll tell him its there. lol. I'm saving it to my files. Thanks so much. And Bee I love making you laugh!-L

Yes, I'm sure you all will be seeing a lot of photos when I start having kids, which is soon. This spring we are planning on starting the process. :D Very excited. I was born to be a mother. It's all I was ever sure about since I was a kid.

LOL @ the sweater. A man riding a horse? REALLY? Your husband needs some help :gig

You need a simple hand dolly to shove under your bucket and wheely it right down to the place of business. They don't cost much and will save you some time...just shove this puppy under the buckets and go. $35 and has a 4 and a half star customer rating out of 493 reviews! http://www.amazon.com/Magna-Cart-Pe...TF8&qid=1355190852&sr=8-1&keywords=hand+dolly

I need to get rid of the layer and grower so I can just feed the animals the layer. Or, just buy grower from now on. Having 3 buckets is a royal pain, but I figure as long as I have them separated, I will keep it that way. Dunno when that starter will run out. I'll probably add it to the layer once I have chicks that are old enough to eat it.
