LOL I'm with ya on those feathers on the legs!

Don't think chickens should have feathers on their legs at all. You can't see them so how'd you know they got critters on em?

I want a pic if you do that and he just might thank you. Sing it hurts so good while you're doing it to as to comfort him.

I were only foolin' about that..those feathers are pretty dug in under those scales and might start bleeding if a person was to cut them too close. He'll wear his feathered mules right to the killing cone and go out in high style, like a drag chicken should.

What about cinnamon essential oil mixed with a little bit of some kind of oil as a carrier and finished off with water in a spray bottle?

I never gave it any thought beyond the fact that I cannot afford to sprinkle a lot of cinnamon around.

I've decided that I cannot keep up with this thread when you guys get going. Man! Yesterday, I was suddenly behind by 10 pages. Too tired so I didn't read. Today I'm behind by 22 pages! Still haven't read. I'm cross-eyed and need to go to bed.

Triple Willow, did you ever find out from a neighbor if your sonic thing bothers his chickens? I'd REALLY like to know. I'll definitely be getting some of these if they work well on mice and not on chickens. Please let me know.

Beautiful..simply stunning, isn't he? That's the thing with hair sheep rams..they actually look a lot different than the ewes, unlike woolly breeds. Here's a pic of a painted desert ram...

Oh, Bee, he IS simply stunning! I LOVE it! Are these painted desert sheep also hair sheep? My daughter has been talking to me about them recently but I hadn't seen a picture. He is gorgeous! Is he yours? How tall is he and how much would you guess on weight? Any aggressive tendencies towards humans? Good flock protectors?

Good morning. For some reason I have got to where I wake up before the sun comes up, and I don't like it! lol

I have not caught up with my friend yet but I have one of those doodads laying out to take with me when I leave the house and I may see him today. I have not forgot about it!

Title this post " AM I CRAZY"...... In the mornings, I get up, make coffee, wifey's tea and we go out on the porch and watch the sun come up. Come in make her some lunch, and see her off to work. (this is the nutso part) As she goes down the drive I wave, walk up the ramp to the chicken coop open the door and say "good morning girls, looking good", go in get the water jug and say " alright listen up we need more eggs y'all been slacking, there's 8 of you , now I wanna see 6-8 eggs c'mon now get with the program". Go up to the goat haus Call it that just because it sounds cool lol, open their door ( which is also the ramp), back off so's I don't get trampled, and say good morning boy's, they see I didn't bring feed and keep pushing I'm telling them you know how it is you get your feed after I'm properly dressed, get back look out etc. Next I go back to the garage on the house and the meatys are all stirred up so I feed them say good morning they run around in out of the tractor i'm talking get back in there, hey don't do that , leave her alone , now stop that, where's you manners etc..... The critter whisperer, except I don't whisper...... Now I ask you " AM I NUTZ"??? I am kinda glad I'm all alone up here on the hill.

Love em.... Though I prefer polled just from a "danger" point of view if you have a ram. And If I had sheep I would have a ram just because I am so isolated. I think I could sell Hair sheep here.
That Katahdin is a chunk. Is that how they are all built?

I just made some awesome chicken nuggets yesterday. I think when my birds are done growing I will make them again and use a whole chicken. They're so good and I like having them frozen for microwaving later. :3
