Chum is right!!! That's exactly how they act..like sharks smelling blood in the water. I've never seen a bird act that way over dry feed in my life but this FF is something else altogether. Do you think they become addicted and are just displaying a "Jones" for the stuff?
Kassaundra that is so funny! LOL Are you sure those birds didn't wear the feathers off their neck eating ff out of a bucket? LOL
Definitely keep them together wherever they are. They will do fine in the garage unless there are rats in there! If you put out the JOB, the rats will be gone in a couple of days, so they won't have to be in the garage long.
Me too!! Beats trying to rig up a tent using an old blanket and some sticks. How cool would it have been to have one's own hoop coop play house?
Not Bee either but I have a hoop coop. Other than putting the canvas down on the sides to keep the drafts out I do very little else. My hens can take below freezing temps just fine. They roost together for warmth and cover their feet to keep warm. As long as their free of drafts and have enough ventilation they will be fine in the cold. The cold doesn't bother them its the moisture in the coop from poor ventilation that causes frostbite and possibly illness.
