Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

This block does have some good stuff in it and yep, concentrated. It turned their poop dark dark. It has a lot of molasses! That is what I am thinking Bee, feed it a little at a time.

@Armorfirelady... does it make your yolks darker?

The Purina Flock Block costs about $14 in my neck of the woods....how about where you guys live?

That's more than I pay for 50# of layer mash!!! What in the world are you guys buying all that expensive supplement for when the fermentation already boosts your nutrients, vitamins and minerals to such a degree?

It's Purina.....I bought one block late this past winter before I began fermenting feed. The birds absolute devoured it in VERY short order. I decided I wouldn't be doing that again......

Mine do seem to love it too. But when it got wet, a mess! We had some serious blowing rain Sunday. Tornados went all around us. Three people died not real far from here.
Apparently Illinois really took a big hit.....15 tornadoes, maybe 17. Absolutely devastating, from what I understand.

Oh yeah it was BAD!!! There are several towns with sections just totally destroyed. That storm front went from Illinois all the way down through TN and I think even further. Yet again, by the grace of God the worst that happened here at my place was a tarp blew off my coop. We have a lot of that sort of weather, HIGH winds and some tornados passing through.
