Well obviously broilers don't lay eggs lol....

It's the tannins...beautiful color....like eating carrots; beta carotene gives s nice healthy glow too! Well, I learn something new every day!

That's why Frank was, and Jim is, successful. They probably FF, too. LOL

Frank Perdue ran commercials on TV many years ago that stated the broiler chickens his company were fed a diet that included marigold petals.

Lol the commercial gave away the secret ;)... The author of the article mentions missing the connection in the TV ads ;)

Got to think outside the box! I bet he never knew he would go from "some anonymous chicken guy that fed his chickens marigolds" to worldwide known for Purdue broilers ;)

Flowers....ah the irony :D

The author wasn't so smart... if that was the "secret", Frank wouldn't have let it out. His FEED is secret, the marigolds just help the color and flavor. You may or may not know it, but many people use marigolds in salads. http://tinyurl.com/p2objtg

Perdue Farms is right here in Maryland, in Hurlock, by the way, on the Eastern Shore. They also have places in Salisbury, Maryland. HUGE business.

I use Firefox but it won't block ads generated by BYC, and that's not acceptable to me, under any circumstances. Offer a free blog, then want extortion to block ads? No.
I use Chrome, and I have adblock (the free version) installed. I never see any ads...

I also use firefox and never see pop up/pop under/any ads. ever. I don't see ads in the side bars either.

I have ad blocker plus (vs2.6.9.1) turned on and also use another ad-on called "NoScript" (vs2.6.9.27)

Right now I am only allowing BYC to run 2 out of the 10 scripts they want to use. I don't allow any of the "tracking" type scripts to run in my browser, so BYC can't database anything I do. The 2 I'm allowing are the BYC site itself (backyardchickens, com) and yahooapis (required for the site to work).

Another add-on I use is called Blur (formerly DoNotTrackMe) which prevents sites from tracking me when I enter or leave their site (to know where I came from and where I left to go to).

All 3 addons are free, full service apps. They do offer enhanced gadgetry for a price or ask for support donations, but no payment is required to use them at their full potential. Good luck with it.

Thanks Bill, but my tech said not to use Chrome. Too much dazzle and too much capture.
Your tech is pulling your leg. Last winter's stats for browser usage:

Chrome is the most popular browser around, and it's especially popular with the tech community. I wouldn't use anything else. I'm betting your tech has some kind of slanted vision. We all have our blind spots, especially when we're deep in the field. Chrome is the way to go, until something better comes along.
