Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I did as well.. That cold is spreading like wild fire! I blame it on the children.. Germy buggers they are

Not my children (don't have any yet), my nephew. He's always touching things and is always the route of any illness that pops up in our family.

Off with his hands!

Well, I added to my ferment bucket yesterday morning and really filled it up, stirred it well and got the backslopped ferment water well mixed in. This morning, in this cold weather, the feed was merely moist but didn't have that lovely FF smell. We'll see what tomorrow brings and if it will ferment the feed. If not, I will either bring it inside or go back to dry feeds for the winter months(hate to do that).

Thank you all for the will wishing on my cold. Right now it's just in the snuffy head, heavy chest stage....but tonight, if we still have power, I'll do "the treatment" and knock it right on out of my body. It has worked well for me in the past and may do so again.

Okay, I'll bite. What's "The Treatment," and why do you need power for it? :)

The treatment consists of raising core temps to simulate a fever, thus rushing white blood cells to the source of the invasion(in this case, a cold virus) so they can kill it off naturally. It has to be done properly or it is just ineffective...much like free ranging...and people then claim it simply does not work for them because they half-a$$ed it and expected it to work the same as it does for me.
