Fertile eggs gone cold, help!

See told you she knew what she was doing! Did all the eggs hatch or did she leave some - usually if they leave the nest and one or two haven;t hatched you usually find they were unviable anyhow. They don;t usually leave live eggs behind. It is funny how they know!

Give it time and don't disturb her and you may get a few more in a day or two. As long as sheis sitting them there is life in them. Though as you know it doesn;t always mean a hatch.
She will come off when she is ready.

Oes - brillient news. - the cold spell will mean some eggs can be late. And eggs have hatched near a week apart so sit tight!

Yes she is. I candled it before and it was growing well and moving inside the egg. I think it might be late because she started sitting on a few eggs and then a couple of days later she found this one. Therefore I think it will hatch in a few days

AWE!!!! I want to hatch some babies. I am very new to this chicken hobby. Got my first ones the first of March and they have just began getting eggs last wednesday. Super Excited about that. I have 6 eggs in all total. I am not sure if it's one hen that has laid all the eggs so far or if it is a couple different hens since I have found the eggs in different boxes. I don't have an incubator or anything like that. I have a neigbor that has a couple of them and I know she would not mind hatching some for me or letting me borrow one of her incubators. I have a week long trip to take the first week of september so I want to plan on trying to get some hatched out after I get home. Thank yall for sharing the pictures. I am excited for you.

You should definitely hatch some! It is so amazing to watch! What breeds do you have? And do you have a cockerel?

Hi, I'm trying to find out if my fertile eggs will stay viable long enough for my friend to pick them up and take them home to his incubator. He's not coming til the 29th! How long will eggs last without being either put under a hen or into an incubator?? All I know is to keep them at room temperature. : ) THX
