FERTILE EGGS?

Yay! Going to set some eggs, chicks will be silkie crosses, just because hatching eggs is so fun! First time hatching my own eggs (have hatched many purchased eggs, all shipped)
My white silkie crossed with my 3 standard pullets that are laying. None of my silkie pullets are mature yet, but thought it would be fun to create some crosses before I start breeding the silkies next Spring! ☺
What are your 'standard pullet' breeds? Just wondering what your silkie crosses will look like. .. I have a broody hen on eggs due to hatch soon but used mostly pullet eggs and had terrible trouble with 6 out of 13 quitters/yolkers. The ones left are most of my hens eggs. I won't be using pullet eggs to hatch again. A lot of people have no trouble though.
Hope your hatch goes well :jumpy

Sorry to ask, but what is a pullet egg?

Thanks!
Of the 3 that are laying, one is a mature hen, olive egger (ameraucana/BCM cross).
Her eggs are obviously fertile. The other two are new layers (pullets), Mixed breed (leghorn/rir/white rock) and an ameraucana. Are pullet eggs less likely to hatch?🤔😊

Thanks!

In my experience yes, I had 100% hatch last year with hens but this year used pullet eggs and had plenty no hatch, and from what I have read they can have higher chance of hatching issues and other defects because the pullets system is still working out till they mature to a hen. ..But then again plenty people hatch pullet eggs just fine with no problems.
