Fertile eggs????

My rooster is very young and just has started mating about a month ago. I have 26 eggs in the incubator and I just candled them at day 3 and no veins or anything. Is the rooster just too young. It is just the one roo and 5 hens.

Sometimes, it takes awhile for them to get the hang of the proper mating technique. How old is he?

He may be to young but I wouldnt give up on those eggs yet. Candle a day 7.

He is 6 months old

I'll tell you a little story. My hens were about 11 months old when they met their first rooster (he'd been in quarantine for a month previously). Good male/female ratio and the rooster was the same age as the girls. It took Hawkeye five, yes FIVE, months before I saw one fertile egg. He was such a gentleman, that he did take no for an answer! I miss that guy.

I checked this morning as I was turning the eggs and the are starting to vain. Yippie....
