Is the white dot in the centre of the yolk a sign of fertility? I read in the other thread about the bullseye but then I noticed that all my duck's eggs have this white dot. Or is it something irrelevant?

Also one more thing I wanted to ask you guys is that we found some reddish dots in one egg like blood. I guessed that it can happen sometimes in eggs, right?

Once you crack them open it dosn't really matter...

sorry couldn't resist.

The white stuff, called chalazae, are twisted strands of egg white that anchor the yolk in place. A more pronounced chalazae indicates a fresher egg. The reddish dots could indicate that the egg was fertile. Hard to tell without seeing it.

The white spot you are seeing is on every egg, the bullseye means it's fertile. The egg in the pic looks infertile. sorry. The red spots are probably meat spots.

Thanks everyone for your answers! ;) So her eggs are still infertile!

I think that she has started pulling her chest feathers out. Does that mean that she will go broody? I am removing her eggs as I haven't seen them mating properly yet. What should I do? Leave a couple of her eggs in the nest she built and see if she will sit on them or keep removing them? Is there a chance that she will go broody and sit in an empty nest ?

She is not at all overweight. She is normal size for a duck and rather small I'd say. It's just that the drake doesn't know how it's done.
