Fertile Store bought eggs?

Wow.. I agree with all the other posters.. You do seem to be a bit edgy with some of the responses you are getting frome everyone. Sometimes its hard to "listen" to advise you would rather not hear. There are alot of good points to be had.

Well, I wondered in the beginning of this thread, but no longer. School starts here next week...I'll deal with this kind of thing then.

Maybe one got cracked on the way to the store and the store owner replaced with one from a broken(messy egg aarton) egg carton from a different supplier.. My store has 2 or 3 different brands of eggs.. and I think the owner would do such a thing instead of sending it back or take a complete loss. You just never never know..

OK,I'm sorry about the flaming emoticon. And the eye-popping one.I didn't mean to upset anyone.Really.Please forgive me.

I guess now I'll get her to get free range eggs.

I do appreciate that. And I'm sorry to hear about the eggs. If your mom's willing to buy free range eggs, will she also be willing to help with the incubation? Good luck.

Well she just went to the store to buy new eggs. She will get any eggs she can ly her hands on,fertile or not.:)And she ate the fertilized egg.She said it was good.So maybe she'll get a whole box of fertile eggs:D

You can do what I did. I built a home incubator and wanted to do a test hatch to see if it would work. I went to a local organic health food store and bought eggs for $3 that say specifically "fertile" on the carton (idea taken from this forum of course).

Out of 12 eggs 7 are developing chicks (only one is from my leghorn/cuckoo maran). Four of them simply weren't fertile and one died somewhere on day 8-9 (I'm guessing). Last I checked they were still going strong. If any of them hatch it will be next Wednesday.

Maybe when you get that club thing setup you could try an experiment with your own fertile store eggs and get your parents to help you setup a proper incubator. Homemade ones are much cheaper and they can work so long as you keep the eggs in the proper temp and humidity ranges. Heck, I bet the club people wouldn't mind sharing their fertile eggs with you.

LOL, Do be more careful with your emoticons. They are serious business.

I'm sure your didn't mean anything by it though. Best wishes to you and your future featherbabies.

I dont want to bust any bubbles but I dont think god is going to waste an immaculate conception on a chicken. At a farm with zero roosters there is NO chance for a fertile egg. Most commercial egg places have their HENS in a very small cage with no roosters.

Bubble bursting? GOD can do anything.. My God can anyway.. So I will not doubt anything. I like to live in the positive viewpoint and its a lot more exciting then discrediting out of the shoot.. And think that maybe she had a fertile egg.. Stranger things have happened.

OK.. the answer should have been obvioulsy.. when mom ate the fertilized egg, you/she should have see the veins on the inside of the shell if that was the tree/branches you saw.. IF there was nothing in the shell and nothing funky in the egg after 7 days then you probably didn't have a chick to start with becuz you would have seen a developing chick.. BUT HEY>> good luck on the new eggs.. Hopefully mom will be on board with you.. However. before you go hatching a bunch of chicks.. You should have a plan of how you are going to house them or who's gonna take them.. Cuz you can't have them in your bedroom forever.. they do get stinky..
