Fertile Store bought eggs?

I candled fresh eggs from the carton and they show signs of fertility.

Sweetie, that is just not possible. Even with eggs we know to be fertile, you cannot see that by candling before about 4-5 days incubation. Not sure exactly what you're seeing, but it isn't veins. If so, someone is playing a cruel joke at the processing/packaging place and putting incubated eggs in the cartons. That's the only way it's possible at all, but even then, there would be a blood ring from a dead embryo, not veining, since they would have been refrigerated.

Unfortunately, candling eggs fresh from the carton like this does not offer proof of fertilization. Have they been incubated for any length of time?

I am not sure what you are looking at- but a fresh infertile egg will look identical to an un-incubated fertile egg from the outside of the shell with candling. No-one can tell them apart. You can gauge freshness by looking at the size of the air sac in either type, and in an early incubated fertile egg (3-5 days), you can see a small area of veining. Really, the only reason to candle a fresh egg is to look for obvious wird stuff or damage- cracks, broken/unstable air sac, meat spots, ect. I think you must be looking at a pattern in the shell, or cracks. Or if you see a dark area in a fresh unincubated egg- you may be looking at a meat or blood spot. A commercial egg producer would never allow partially incubated eggs into their cartons- can you imagine the general population cracking an egg open for breakfast and seeing veins and a small embroyo? They would raise a big stink, and never buy that brand again. Possibly sue for emotional damage... Also commercial eggs as part of the quality control process go through a quick candling, to remove eggs with meat spots.
I do think it is great that you are so interested in eggs and hatching, you just need to get some more training- you need a local mentor.
take a look at these photos- are any of these close to what you are seeing?
