Fertile ???????????????????????

I already threw that one out. waiting for another.:old
What was wrong with eating it? Seems an awful waste to throw a good egg out just because it isn't fertile.
How old is your rooster. If he is an adolescent cockerel, it may take time for him to develop his balance and technique, so he may simply be "missing" at the moment. I assume you have seen him mating the hens?

My first hatch... 1 survivor (and he is now the father of a few in the brooder!)... my 2nd hatch about 5 survivors (I incubate 42 chickens at a time), it slowly went up and then one hatch I had zero survivors because of a mistake I made. After that I have been over 50% and still getting the hang of it. Some of us were not meant to get it right the first few times. My first hatch was April 1st 2018 and I have hatched (or attempted to) every month since then. I still haven't gotten everything worked out. Sometimes I make a great adjustment (adding a fan to the incubator) but failed to counter adjust (lower temps after adding a fan)... all sorts of silly things... I think I might have the hang of it now.

Just a quick update. I finally got a fertile egg Sunday!!:celebrateThen Monday, Pong my blue silkie, went broody. She is sitting on 3 eggs, I'm hoping that they are all fertile. I'm gonna candle them this weekend. I should be able to tell if they are fertile or not by then, shouldn't I? I'm thinking about collecting a couple eggs next week and trying my luck at incubating again, if they are fertile.
