I just remembered something. My EE's eggs looked fertilized too! I haven't made any of her eggs in quite a while, haven't cracked any open, so I don't know if this is/was a one time thing.
I've got an email out to my Hubbard's chicken expert/retired old timer chicken farmer...she is looking up the genetic article for me to post here on BYC. I think I've convinced her to join!!
FUNNY thing today...I got 20 eggs! BUT one was up in the corner hiding so it may be from yesterday!
well one way to know for sure if they are fertilized you can sell me a doz and i will put them in the bator and see what happens! let me know if you wanna do that i can come pick up anytime Sara
do you have a pic of the egg-eggs in question, I would like to see it-them and then I'll give you my reply. you can send it to me via email at [email protected] or post it here and let me know.
I would say you have a rooster in the bunch and this is the best picture that I can see for your Rooster. Can you get more of just this one? it's picture #11
I don't know if EE's male and females come in any colors, but that coloring on #11 is female to me. My EE looks EXACTLY like that. Do you have an incubator? do you think you could make one? Maybe EE's since they are mutts, could very well be hemaphrodites.
