fertilizer in my yard

Hey Guys,
is it safe to fertilize my yard that my chickens run in? i know it is not good for them but will they leave it alone i guess is the question

It is best not to fertilize your yard because they might not leave that area alone.

I would not fertilize your yard if that's where your chickens range. Even if they don't bother it, when they go scratching and searching for bugs, they will ingest it along with the bugs. I believe most fertilizers carry warnings to keep children and pets off the treated area. The chickens themselves will be dropping their own fertilizer all over your yard.

Glad you could join us here! I too agree with the above about not letting them on anywhere you have fertilised. I would not like to run the risk of them getting poisoned.
