Fertilizing or treating lawn where chickens roam?

Unless you go ORGANIC with everything used on places they graze, you may end up with poisoned chickens

Make sure the ORGANIC stuff is not harmful to poultry, as well.

*jaku, I make my own liquid fertilizer for the grass. Started it with just pulled weeds, put those in a bin and covered them with water. Over time I added dried grass clippings, coffee grounds, free from Starbucks and a lot of tea from tea bags, dark molasses and really cheap beer, a little seaweed, epsom salts, potassium, a few older vitamins and a little finished compost and of course, chicken poo!! ONLY PROBLEM; that 1 bin full is enough to provide for about 6O blocks worth of lawns, I think!! My grass and greenery love the stuff, but I only need to filter off about 1/2 a cup to a cup a month to make a 2-liter of liquid for a hose-end sprayer. I WATER FIRST then, take a 1/2 cup filtered bin mix, add a cup of Murphy's oil soap and water to fill the 2-liter, put that on the sprayer and can do the whole lawn over twice if need be!!!

Help!
we rent our house and part of our rent includes someone to mow the lawn. Yesterday they treated our lawn with True Value late spring lawn fertilizer plus weed kill! Our girls normally roam free on the grass. Does anyone have advice for how long we should wait before letting them out and how to best flush the stuff off the lawn?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!
