It was entitled something like “live bait” and was a picture of a fox that had been caught in a leg trap using live hens as bait.

I have used leg traps but now just live traps. I used some processed chicken that found its way to the bottom of our freezer. I baited the traps for a few days and let the fox take the bait and get used to going into the traps then set the traps.

Is a leg trap bad? (Sorry, I don't know about traps and the like.)

I use leg hold traps sometimes. I use whatever needed.
I'd use a 2x4 with a nail though it if given the opportunity.
I can understand why some are against them but I'm more against my birds being shredded and eaten.

Why would you say that? Leg traps are legal in my state.
