Pixie is doing great!
Yesterday she discovered eyeballs. She is just amazed! I think it's because she can see her reflection in them because she will get real close and touch her wet nose to my eyelid. Then, of course then I've closed my eye, she'll back up a bit and gently reach out a paw and ever so lightly touch my eyelid.
'where did the other kitten go?' It's so cute but I only let her do it once or twice in case she starts to get bold. She really is gentle and sweet.
I dewormed her yesterday and I will vaccinate her next week, with a booster at 12 weeks. She will get her rabies when she gets spayed in a few months. I could get her done now, even at 6 weeks, but she has been through so much that I'd like to wait a little while longer. Anesthesia at this young an age is more of risk so I'd feel better if she were larger and had full liver/kidney function. Plus, I'm sure she is anemic from all those fleas and ticks!!!
Oh, she WILL be spayed. 25 years of working in veterinary medicine and working with rescue groups....I am rabid about spay/neuter.
On Friday DBF drove all over to
PetSmart,
TSC and
Walmart buying her toys, special kitten food (Blue Buffalo. My kitten was on Wellness but BB is as good IMO) and looking for the dewormer and vaccine. He looked at those huge cat trees but said "I could make her a much nicer one!"
She's got him wrapped around her little paw. Follows him like a puppy! He bought her, in addition to a pile of other things, a pink (PINK! DBF never buys anything PINK!) ball that flashes when it rolls. It's her favorite. That and the tinfoil ball we made to amuse her when we first found her. Her very first toy.
Miss. Pixie Consequence Jones has done well for herself.
Orpygal, that is the sweetest story!
Yes, I never have really gone looking for my cats, they have always been bestown upon me by the powers that be.
